CNC Programmer/Operator

Description

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated CNC Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team.

You will be responsible for part programming, tool selection, as well as job setup and operation in a small-lot machining/R&D environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in understanding technical drawings and sketches as well as have a strong foundation in CNC turning; Mazak and Okuma conversational programming experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work from complex prints to program and machine parts of various materials (primarily stainless steel and common plastics) on our Haas vertical mills and Mazak CNC turning centers.
Set and adjust work/tool offsets as necessary.
Independently select and set up tooling and fixtures/jaws.
Monitor the run of parts in cycle and after completion to ensure specifications and tolerances are met.
Proficiency in using and understanding all common machine shop measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauge, indicators, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
Assist in training and mentoring peers as necessary.
Other duties as required by Production Manager.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, technical school certification a plus
5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience; primary proficiency in CNC turning.
Strong knowledge of lathe and mill tooling/inserts.
Be able to properly follow verbal instructions as well as interpret technical drawings/sketches.
Work well with others and collaborate on cross-departmental projects.
